U.S. RESIDENTS: GREYHOUND RACING MUST END. URGE CONGRESS TO CO-SPONSOR THE GREYHOUND PROTECTION ACT
Every year, thousands of Greyhound dogs are bred annually to create the fastest dogs (many more than needed to race). Many are killed because they aren't winning material, were injured while racing, or are no longer competitive.
While racing has declined in recent years as people have become aware of the horrors of this sport, there are still tracks operating in the U.S.
Racing Greyhounds routinely experience injuries on the track such as broken legs, cardiac arrest, and broken necks. They suffer off the track too - dogs in this cruel industry spend most of their lives in warehouse-style kennels for 20 or more hours a day, or are kept outdoors in dirt pens with minimal shelter.
While Greyhounds may live 13 or more years, they are usually 18 months to 5 years old when they are "retired" from racing.
You can make a difference! Help protect Greyhounds and help pass the Greyhound Protection Act, H.R. 3894
