It is mind-boggling that Petco Park in San Diego has now hosted the rodeo industry for two years in a row - January 2024 & January 2025. Every animal welfare organization on Earth condemns the rodeo. Why does Major League Baseball and the San Diego Padres baseball team think this is ok?

Rodeo animals are chased, wrangled, roped, and tormented for entertainment. Horses, bulls, steers, and calves suffer from painful injuries, including broken ribs, backs, and legs, punctured lungs, internal organ damage, and snapped necks.

Anyone with a heart knows it’s wrong to tackle a baby animal, slam it to the ground, and tie their legs together. If you did this to a puppy you would be charged with animal abuse. Rodeos call it calf roping and call it a sport.  It’s not a sport, it’s abuse.
