A new undercover investigation released by Last Chance for Animals exposes the suffering of rats at a North American toxicology laboratory.
The day-to-day lives of rats used in animal research is nothing short of torture. During experiments, rats are forced to ingest toxic substances and are monitored for reactions. These substances can include household cleaners, pharmaceutical drugs, and cannabis. Animal testing companies refer to rats and other animals as “research models”, thus devaluing their individuality and sentience.
LCA has been exposing what goes on inside of animal research labs since the 1980’s starting with the infamous rescue of the baby macaque, Britches, from the University of California - Irvine Brain Research Institute. LCA has witnessed the suffering of dogs, cats, pigs, monkeys, rabbits, rats, mice, fish, and guinea pigs all in the name of science. LCA believes that animals are highly sentient creatures who exist for their own reasons independent of their service to humans; they should not be made to suffer for the latter.
Please urge Congress to support legislation that ends animal testing in the U.S., and promotes non-animal testing methods.
Your elected officials need to hear from you!
