The day-to-day lives of animal used in research is nothing short of torture. During toxicology experiments, animals are forced to ingest toxic substances and are monitored for reactions. These substances can include household cleaners, pharmaceutical drugs, and cannabis. Animal testing companies refer to animals as “research models”, thus devaluing their individuality and sentience.

LCA has been exposing what goes on inside of animal research labs since the 1980’s starting with the infamous rescue of the baby macaque, Britches, from the University of California Irvine Brain Research Institute.

LCA investigators have witnessed the suffering of dogs, cats, pigs, monkeys, rabbits, rats, mice, fish, and guinea pigs all in the name of science.

LCA believes that animals are highly sentient creatures who exist for their own reasons independent of their service to humans; they should not be made to suffer for the latter.
